Synopsis - a work in progress

  • original creations
  • situations where the spectator can contribute and manipulate
  • set by means of an apparatus

SpherAleas can change easily; it can be adapted to various places or themes. Each universe produced by SpherAleas is filled with a new identity through a sound and image recording representative of the atmosphere of the place, its inhabitants or of any imaginary themes.

Each creative session brings to SpherAleas new image and sound materials to constitute what we call a “microcosm”. Thus, gradually, Aleas grows from this remembrance whose basic layers remain available through various performances. The audience can then choose to go from one microcosm to another.

The themes can be treated in 2 different ways:

1 Residence and creation time in situ: the audience’s involvement, the setting up of the workshops

SpherAleas provides a common space for physical meeting, through the interaction between the spectators.
It can also provide a space for audiences previously involved through the setting up of workshops capturing of digital pictures, recording of sound, image and sound treatment, in partnership with the host place. These elements will then be transformed again for the setting up.
The point is to confront our artistic view with that of the members of a community (the inhabitants of a territory, for instance).

The aim is then :

  • to confront the “outside” view with the “inside” view – in this case, it is the community which is submitted to this view.
  • looks meet in a collective manipulation space which presents the same characteristics: the “private” space and the “outside” space .

The creations involve :

  • plastic and visual art : they are related to photography. What makes them original is the treatments applied, the passage to 3D, the hijacking of their context to create a new one, and finally, their setting in motion.
  • Sound : “sound bricks” are collected and created to transcribe a sound landscape.
  • Scenographic : the project is also enriched by a particular setting that makes it possible to move out of the direct confrontation with the work into the heart of the work, until the various manipulations contribute to its very existence.

2 Creations of imaginary universes :
Our sensitivity will drive us to create, from scratch, imaginary oneiric sonorous and pictural universes related to the selected theme.
We will work on the consistency between images and souns performing repetitive and acousmatic music.
